Dear Lord,
Please let me be at peace where I am. It's been hard coming back home after an amazing weekend in Colorado. My heart is not content. Please let my heart rest in you.
Amen.

FINALLY (I'm Back)
My life feels as if it's lost at sea. Or like the incredible thunderstorm that rolled through good 'ole Nebraska around 3am. "My life feels like that storm last night. Unpredictable and annoying." That was a blip of a conversation I had with a close friend this morning.
There are many options available for me, but I want to choose the right one. What is the right one? I would love to know that answer to this puzzling and complex question...
I had first felt that I should study theology through an online program. But after reviewing past experiences with online and correspondence classes, I realized this wasn't the path for me. A few months ago, I realized that I wanted to teach English to students of otherlanguages. This then led to my true desire: Master of Arts in English with an endorsement or certification in TESOL.
"Ok." you say. "It looks like she's got it all figured out." Yes, but I didn't have this realization until after Fall Applications were due. So, I decided to suck it up and find programs that also accepted spring applicants. I even signed up for a few undergrad classes atUNL to make my application stronger.
The schools that I am applying to include: East Carolina University, University of North Carolina-Wilmington, University of Colorado-Denver, and University of Nebraska-Lincoln. I should have taken a little closer at UNL... They only accept fall applications! This was my fall back school, and I really don't feel like waiting a whole nother year to start my masters degree. So, now I'm looking at more options. Should I apply to University of Nebraska-Omaha? What about picking a few other locations I could move to. I think right now, I'm being safe. Maybe safe isn't what I need. What if I've been limiting myself to when I could be ready for new opportunities?
Dilemma numero dos: a job. The position I am in currently is just for a year. I am an Americorps VISTA working in Higher Education dealing with Service Learning. This position ends in August. Because I'm not sure of my school situation past December, I am very worried and stressed.
Confession #4: I doubt myself a lot.
I'm learning not to. But, I am one that wants to experience everything she can! I need to learn to explore but be realistic, but not too realistic that I am limiting myself.
Options, options, options.

Work Woes
Sometimes I don't appreciate my job. But when I think about it, where else can I listen to praise music without bothering anyone? I love that I can jam out in my office and worship while my co-workers can get their work done without my music annoying them!
I've been listening to OH YOU BRING for the past couple of days. Every time I listen to it I just tear up at the words. They are exactly what I feel towards my wonderful Savior. Jesus is all I need!
I have had so much work to do today. I am just now taking a huge sigh of relief. I must have been holding my breath. Sometimes I'm inundated with things to do, other times I feel like I have done absolutely everything. Yesterday that's how I felt and I took a good look at everything that was coming up and I was able to find a lot of things to do for today. This a great. I just need to remember to re-evaluate when I feel there is nothing to do!

Amazing Song
This song is amazing. I cry every time I sing it. It talks about how much God has done and how he deserves our worship. In definition worship means fulling living for Jesus, withholding nothing.

Books of the Moment
The two books I'm currently reading are EMMA by Jane Austen and SAME KIND OF DIFFERENT AS ME by Ron Hall and Denver Moore.
I'm reading Emma with the Barnes and Noble Online Book Club. At the end of the month Masterpiece Theatre is showing it (PBS).
I'm reading Same Kind of Different as Me with the The Bloom Book Club. There is a link on the side of my page. It's a great book so far!

Welcome 2010
I can't believe it is twenty-ten. I wonder how long it will take me to remember to write that when I write the date. I was still writing 2008 a couple of months ago.
2010 is so prolific for me. In May, it will be a year since college graduation. In August, my VISTA term will have ended. Also, I will be moving into a different phase of my life.
One, of many goals is working out. Of course, Monday I'm all geared to go, but by Thursday, the procrastination begins. "I'm too tired." "It's too cold." "I'll go this weekend." The lies I tell my self to get out of a good thing.
These lies creep into other areas of my life. From doing chores to reading my bible. Those tiny little lies can do a lot of damage. Damage that could have been prevented.
So, 2010 will be the year of prevention. Prevention of being overweight, prevention of being complacent with my relationship with God, family, and friends, and prevention of living life uneventfully.
Twenty-ten, has a nice ring to it. I can feel that something amazing and wonderful is coming.
I journey, not alone, but with Jesus to guide my steps. The unknown is out there, but I'm ready to embrace it! Are you with me?
